Anyone have a good source of pcb n scale ties? My supplier recently changed their manufacturing process, and besides getting far fewer ties for the same price, I'm not impressed with the new style. Very, very disappointed with my most recent order, especially since I back-ordered them long before I knew they were changing their ties.
Where were you getting you PCB ties? I was getting mine from CLOVER HOUSE http://cloverhouse.com/Store/ awhile ago. Hope this is not where you talking about. I'm in process of getting ready to order more ties wood & PCB types. I'm with you on this one. Anybody else have any ideas on who/where we can buy wood & PCB ties?
Fast Tracks just changed their PCB ties, and they seem a little thicker than the older ones. This, however, is an improvement, as the previous FT PCB ties were a bit thinner than the plastic ties in the Atlas flex track and so required some shimming or living with the dip or having the PCB ties "float" with the turnout glued to the wooden ties. I have not yet used the new "Copperhead" PCB ties, though, so I don't know how they are beyond looks.
@MC Fujiwara, I'm bumping this old thread to see what you finally settled on as a supply for your PBC ties.
Someone asked about that at the Richmond, CA train show a couple days ago and MC said it was the GapMasters from http://americantieandtimber.com/ I purchased some custom made ones from a kind fellow in Germany...enough to do 6-10 modules. I'll give the GapMasters a try when I run out.
I cannot speak as to PCB ties. For wood, folks might look up Kappler Mill & Lumber, or Mount Albert Scale Lumber. Perhaps they offer something useful for N scalers.
I'm curious on what other info MC has. It looks like the gap master are good for end of modules but not for fast tracks jigs. But I guess they work if you just use template's.
I got a response from American Tie & Timber already, I will most likely be going with those. I like how they look, and they are all for my module ends, and I have a bunch of modules in the work right now.
