Just found the Merlin pic, but not sure how to share from my phone, so I will look out others and do a selection on another forum. Which would be best for steam pics from UK in the sixties?

    MKT Mated Pair

MKT Mated pair, not really, but birds of a feather sorta yes. Both new the Athearn MP15AC and the MKT wide vision caboose by Rapido trains.
So far the Loco runs fine and makes the proper noises. This one programs exc.
The caboose has extra details a nice paint job, interior lighting and working marker lights. It says will run DC I have just run it DCC which means interior lights are always on. The marker lights are turned on by swiping the supplied plastic wand containing a magnet lengthwise along either end. It works. The photo was taken on my test loop, the background is a painting I own by J Kudo industry and bridges in Ny/NJ area.

I got a few new locos some of you may be interested in and maybe a commission offer.

First is the Athearn Genesis SD70ACe UP 1996 Heritage unit in it's SP hybrid paint scheme. Yes, the ditch lights work and the cab has probably one of the best interiors I own outside of my little SP switcher. My LHS train guy prefers this run over the MTH one. First and probably last UP loco I buy. Okay, I might get the 844, emphasis on might since it kind of looks good with the SP 4449, except I might vandalize the number plate with "SP" instead of "UP."

Next is a companion Bowser SP Alco C630 for my Bowser C630. They are probably the best matched Locos I own for running as a team and they look fantastic.
    DSC_0812.jpg DSC_0817.jpg

Last is a new run Athearn AMD 103 to go with my older Athern run (well, version?). #67 is the new one with the matching wipers and semi transparent fan cover. #207 was a eBay rescue that got replacement parts for (like the wiper) but the fan grill is original as is the paint. The second photo sort of shows the difference in the colors between the 2, along with the completely different fan covers. #207 is well worn and runs faster then #67 so running them as a pair gets interesting. Plus #67 being newer, is DCC ready, while #207 is DC only. I don't consider them a true matched pair since they are from completely different runs (yet from the same manufacture) and both have their own unique personalities. I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think #207 came with mirrors like #67.

Interesting note: #207 is almost a perfect running match to my Bachmann EMD F40PH. If anyone's read my other threads, you'd know I have a almost complete Amtrak Talgo demonstrator. If anyone is capable and wants some money, I'm willing to talk about painting my F40PH and Talgo Consist to Cascade's colors and adding wings (But I'd like mine to be marked with ODOT, Not WSDOT). I have a sorry old Athern EMD F59PHI in Cascades colors that could use the Golden hills and "Cascades" added to it too. My painting skills are too deplorable to attempt this on my own and I had to import my 3 extra cars from of all places, France. I'd rather not have to replace them.

Today I picked up an Atlas C424 decorated as Morristown & Erie 18 that it won on eBay from Dan's Train Depot. This is the second time I've had this engine, as it's previous version was lost in a storage unit auction. Because of the infrequency models decorated for my favorite road come onto the secondhand market, I'm keeping this, come hell or high water.

I have one of those too. I love that loco. It was a undecorated one that the seller had done a fantastic job in turning it into SP&S BN patched 4243. Complete with brass handrails and strobe. It's a really strong and has a ton of hours, but you'd never know it by the way it runs. Do your best to keep that thing in sight at all times. I'll show you mine, if you show me yours ;)

Buy Buy Buy that's all I am doing, Well, I really am going to build something soon!

I bought these IRT NYC R17 subway cars to use in the elevated railway that will be part of my new layout. The elevated railway will serve city areas as

well as provide transportation to the industrial area that will have an oil refinery and other factories. I actually built, yes built 2 oil tanks from TOMY kits

that will be part of the refinery. I want to post a few more photos of other things I bought before I actually start.....yes.... really start the benchwork.

I've been buying "stuff" for about a year now so all the stuff is new...... to me at least. These are the running locos. There are a few more non-runners which will sate my urges for buying more "stuff". Rolling stock is all used stuff. Replacing trucks & couplers.....then there are a shelf full of kits. Al in all there is enough to keep me busy for a year or so....once I get my RR semi-done. At present my buying is limited to scenery supplies.....a seemingly unending stream of "stuff".

Just received two more Athearn RTR Southern Pacific SD units. One is a late version SD45T-2 #9363 and the other is an SD45R #7474. Any fan 70's and 80's northern California can't have enough SD45's and tunnel motors! My Prior order from this dealer was an early SD45T-2 #9325 and a late SD45T-2 #9348. I only had 3 SD45T-2's prior to this treasure hunt and one of them was a Kodachrome and the other an SSW unit so I still needed to beef up the SP units. That brings the total up to 6 now.

SD45T-2's for SP are getting hard to find so I was glad to find a shop that still had some left!

    The Davenport

I don't usually like to spend too much money for buildings, but I had a few extra bucks on my Amazon account and ran across this building at a pretty good discount., and couldn't pass it up. Being that I am struggling along trying to find time to work on this town, I figured it would save me many hours of work I could put into other railroad projects. I think the did a pretty good job on this building. The only thing I can find to complain about is the fire escape which is a bit over sized. It fits the town atmosphere very well.

I finally broke down and got more rolling stock after I got yet another loco (Athearn SP Dash-9 RTR). I picked up a Athearn SP rotary snow plow that could be better, but I've always wanted one so I'm willing to over look it's defects, a 'Super Continental Line' Rapido 10-5 SP Smooth sleeper (First Rapido I've bought, very nice), a 2 car Rivarossi log car set, and 2 pullman passenger cars by Blueprint (Branchline) or as I call them, 'a RTR box of parts ready for reassembly.' Every one I've picked up seems to have lost some part (or many) off the car, but the detailing is still better then most. I WISH they'd make the truck assembly one piece. I also got another I beam and 2 loads (I already own one).

After missing the first couple of runs of PRR Baldwin Centipedes, I scored at a good price on E-Bay. These are awesome engines that run pretty well.

Just purchased a B-mann 2-8-4 Berkshire undecorated with DCC to use around a X-mas tree. It will be lettered for ASTF with the correct 4000 range # soon

It was Spring Creek Trains. Try emailing them and see if they have any left. I just received an SP SD45 elephant ear from them also. #8912
