    Hello!

Now i made model of Russian freight train with trucks which have 0.35mm flanges and finescale profile of wheels.

This train is mooving along Code 55 track.

    See Video:

    Vadim,

    WOW!!!

Thanks for a view of a different prototype. I remember seeing some Russian/Soviet manufactured equipment during my time in Iraq, and the design differences made for some interesting comparisons. Also kinda cool to see equipment without the typical logos and with stencilling in Cyrillic.

A question - are the trucks MicroTrains or similar? If so, are they accurate to the prototype or does this involve a little bit of modeller's license?

Finally, I have to say I'm impressed with how well the train seems to creep along - very smooth.

Those wheels and trucks look great, especially running on that code-55!

Looks good. Did you do the machine work? Or are these commercially available wheel sets?

Vadim, I am impressed with the realistic appearance of the trucks and wheels in relation to the rails. Do you have problems with derailing? Did you do anything special when you laid down the track to compensate for the Fine Scale dimensions of the wheels and trucks?

It's definitely nice to see a different prototype, and it seemed to move so smooth !!! My question is, did I actually see pig snouts at 5:34 and 5:41 ??? It sure looked like it !!!

    Thanks Eagle 2!
This is fully home - made freight cars. It's bodies made from ProtoCast resin.
But i use BLMA trucks with 36' wheels and body mounted MicroTrains coupling for using undertable ElectroMagnetic uncouplers at sorting yard.

Sorry !!! Pig noses !!! It looks like they might be poking through the sides of the cars at 5:34 and 5:41. Pigs always do that when they are in trucks or rail cars.

I see what hes talking about.....it looks like the plastic or resin sides of the cars have a slight imperfection in them that sort of looks like a couple of pigs poking there noses out of the car. Like a part of the boards on the car have come undone, like on a real car, and the animals inside have pushed through.....nice effect anyway....:)

Vadimav, I truly hope you are not insulted. Your cars are GREAT !!! To me, it resembles what pigs do. They try to force their noses through the slats, or boards. I often see trucks on the highway that will have 100 noses poking out !!! I also remember seeing the same on the Rock Island going through New Lenox and Joliet. They had cars known as "The Pig Palace" with noses everywhere !!! I would just go with it and say, "Yeah, those are pigs !!!" It definitely looks right to me !!!

Really enjoyed that video Vadimav, those cattle wagons and gondolas really look as though they've done some hard work over the years, especially when viewed in closeup. Did you also build the loco? Was it a kit or home made? (scratchbuilt)

    Thanks, tootnkumin!

The loco is MiniTrix V200 model, which is originally Russian M62 loco painted for Deutche DB. I repaint model back For Moscow Roads (My friend helped me)
