You will not find a Tsunami that will fit into either of these. There are not a lot of sound decoders for diesels being made.
I agree with Woodone. I love the Tsunami decoders but they are big and I don't think you can shoe horn one in. For those I would recommend a Digitrax or MRC drop in sound decoder.
Have you thought of making a sound car. I used a Kato coal porter that worked out pretty good. Harold
Anything can be done, just depends on how much your want to modify your loco. Here's an article from Soundtraxx putting a decoder into at E8 http://www.soundtraxx.com/documents/appnotes/kato_e8_nscale.pdf I personally just use the MRC decoders. They require a little modification to fit well. I also cut out one of the fans in the shell and mount the speaker in it, then put a metal grill over it.
AtomicVette, The E-8 is a wide body locomotive. Are not the C44-9W and the ES44's narrow hooded loco's. If that is the case, it is going to be hard to fit a Tsunami TSU-750 into one. I guess that the fuel tank area might be wide enough to fit one if it were milled out. Going to be a tight fit.
The Tsunami decoders are a little wide to fit in a narrow hood engine, however, the ESU loksound micro is narrow enough to fit. The next problem after getting the decoder to fit is the speaker. I've done a couple where I put the speaker in the fuel tank.
