His name is Doug Chapman and apparently he ended up not going today because hes been fighting off a nasty cold. oh well.
Day one is done and it was a lot of fun! Kudos to the people running this, super smooth between the dinners, auction and great raffle. Class act guys.
On behalf of my fellow club members, THANK YOU, for the compliments. We try hard to make this a fun experience for all. I am at the registration desk drop by and say hello if you receive this before the event kicks off for its last day. Craig
good time! took the family up to check out the trains. shame i didnt have a pocket full of cash to spend, could have dropped quite a bit on new rolling stock and structures. kids had a good time, but a fussy 1 year old cut us a little short. but then again, i could spend all day there.
HydroSqueegee, glad to hear of your good time. Hold the date for the 6th Ohio N-scle Weekend, May 17 & 18, 2014. The planning started several weeks ago for it. later, Craig
What a super show! As a first time vendor (in any train show) I didn't know what to expect. Great organization, great participants, great comraderie, great crowd. Met a few TB members there--sorry if we didn't get to spend enough time, as my table was a lot busier than I expected. I was pleased with the business results far beyond my wildest expectations, and was able to explore a few business relationships that will only improve my ships . . . and bridges . . . and . . .
Craig, it was nice meeting you, sorry our conversation was rushed as I and they guys from Bloomington were loading up. You and your club ran a first class event and everything ran smooth. Me and the guys from Bloomington are already making plans for next year. Pete, it was nice to meet you and see your models up close. After knowing you on Trainboard for over 10 years, it is great to finally put name to face. Lots of great layouts, really just a fun time running trains, buying stuff at good prices and talkin' trains. If you live anywhere near Ohio and your into N scale, you simply must go!
It was a great weekend, I had an awesome time! I'm with Dayton N-Trak, it was my first time there with a club, I must say, it was a blast! The festivities Saturday night was well done, the auction was quite entertaining! Lots of really nice layouts to see and of course, everyone couldn't have been nicer. The vendors were outstanding, I know I spent way too much, at least four of our members went home with a Big Boy.. You guys did a great job putting this on, I can't wait until next year..
Very intrigued by the drive in theatre corner module. Drive in scenes always seem to end up being focal points. Did anyone see the Milwaukee Road rotary snowplow that was there one year before? I need to find out who would built it and how.
i would also like to say the modules there were amazing. some very exceptional work. the one that really caught my eye was the T-Trak layout shoved into the corner. After checking it out, im almost 100% sold on going that route for the home layout and scrapping everything i have done already.
T-Trak is catching on, everywhere. Simplicity in design, portability, yet you can build very detailed scenes. Modules sizes and shapes have evolved to almost whatever can be imagined.
WOW!!! Once again the Central Ohio guys held a truly great event. The dinner was excellent, the auction was a blast. Whoever the auctioneer was did a truly super job. Who would expect that a four pack of Pex dispensers would go for $36? I mean, granted they were themed in Thomas the Tank Engine, but $36??? Have to admit though that I had to think twice about that one. I anticipated having a hard enough time explaining to the wife the other stuff I bought. I can just imagine what her reaction would be to a $36.00 Pez four pack. The brass cab forward didn't sell with a reserve of $500.00. The plastic model is probably to blame for that We will be back next year. Something that struck me about this event was as we were leaving on Sunday afternoon the number of people who wished everyone a safe trip home and said, "See you in Bedford." We will be there also.
Yes, that would be me. Inkaneer--sorry, I can't connect your screen name here at TB with anyone I met at the show.
Pete, I apologize for not stopping by. Due to some of our member's scheduling problems we were short handed at the layout with only two of us there on Saturday. Another member drove in and arrived just in time for the dinner. On Sunday I stopped at your table but you were busy with another person and there appearred to be another person in line. I didn't want to be rude and 'barge in' interrupting your conversation. I figured I would stop by later but one thing led to another and the opportunity never arose. Time at the Sunday session seemed to just fly by. Not being able to meet you, introduce myself and shake your hand is the only negative I have about the show.
