Thanks Jim. I'm grateful that I have a pretty good supply right now and your absolutely correct on the weathering colors. Dirt is dirt... :)

I just stocked up on Polly Scale Aged White since I like to use it for fading paint.

Talk about panic in the streets, just saw a prominent etailer sell through 56 bottles of Polly Scale Engine Black in 24 hours....Wow... :0

Trust me, I feel your pain. Try doing it from across the pond though.... ;)

Can't tell you how many times my wife has said that my work bench/area looks better stocked than some hobby shops we've been to stateside...lol...

best paint i've ever used comes from true-line-trains. hopefully they will extend their product line.

I guess that I am a bit lucky. I won't be able to completely restock my paint needs for at least another 7 months, so hopefully by then, this paint color availability void will be filled. By then, I will need the MoPac Eagle colors along with Katy red, which are somewhat rare colors to begin with.

I read on another topic that true-line-trains paints are actually made by Testors. If that is the case, we can kiss them goodbye too.

You know,I always liked Accu-Paint,but never could buy it here.I'm still outa luck.My "LHS" doesn't stock ANY kind of paint other than basic Tamiya and Testors garbage, some military. If I want any kind of paint,I hafta buy a case [6 bottles..] of one color..Just stupid..I gotta drive 160 miles to buy stuff in person, gotta go to English's..

Accu Paint white was like no other, good even coverage and colour and you could almost toss your model in the air, squirt it with the airbrush and it would come down dry, I could paint, decal and dulcote a two or three colour model in less than a day, and because it's solvent based, or as someone pointed out technically an ink, it gave the thinnest coverage I've ever attained as well.

Everything is relative Lou D, a 160 mile drive is better than than drooling over all their colours on their website knowing the only way you'll get any is by flying halfway around the world and back.:(

Same here, although they do offer to order for me. And then when it comes in, charge me well above MSRP. Nearest actual hobby shop for me is roughly a 275 mile round trip. Oh well.

If you are "across the pond", you should have access to Vallejo, Humbrol, Tamiya, AK Interactive, and MIG Productions. All excellent paint and weathering products.

All better than Floquil or Poly S in my opinion. The downside is they don't market in traditional RR colors.

AK and MIG are a little harder to find over here. But they are available.

Except I'm not to keen on paying the 19% tax for paint in Germany. The local hobby store has a decent selection, but...

Matte spray that is the equivalent to Dullcote (which is banned in the EU by the way) runs €8 per can, that is ridiculous. :(

So I stick with old reliable for know. I'll change at some point though...

Heh. Reminds me of trying to order snowmobile parts from a Polaris dealer when I lived in Tennessee. Talk about looks...

Nowadays it almost seems like MRR-ing is as niche and rare in most areas as snowmobiling is in the South.

Im lucky to have one decent hobby shop within a half hour drive. They mainly deal in RC stuff but have a small train section and carry a ton of different paints. They recently expanded to include a good chunk of the Warhammer and 40K miniature games line, to include the game specific paints, further increasing what they have to offer.

I need to go talk to those guys to see what they have to say about the paints and if they plan on stocking any RR specific ones.

This warning at the top of the page doesn't hold much promise for the emails I'm starting to send to online dealers about havng it sent to Australia.

WARNING: This paint can not be shipped outside the US. Any foreign orders that contain paint will be refunded for the paint only.
