Awesome detail weathering on your locos and rails. Very realistic.

Considering the time & frustrations of getting that 3 feet "semi-done", I'll be very lucky to get the rest semi-done....whether I die of natural causes or blow my brains out.
Layering in the "stuff" to create realistic chaos left behind by them old loggers & nature is TEDIOUS. I'm not totally satisfied with what I've done....thus the "semi-done" escape I gave myself. I have enough left undone for a fella half my age..... But thanks for the encouragement

I'm hoping that my attitude toward my MRR improves when winter sets in.....tho I hate winters also.....I haven't done squat on it since spring sprung.

Well the scenery you do have complete is awesome, including the weathering on the GP-30. Very realistic, especially around the fuel tank.

Nice looking C&EI unit as well!

YES! First it kept telling me that I was "exceeding" my quota. I cropped one down to 237 kb and it was still too much! Now its trying to tell me that what I am loading is not a valid image file! (a jpeg). Go figure. I spoke to Boxcab, he is looking into it, but haven't heard anything as of late. I have another pic I wanted to post for this thread...

Thought I would post another to keep the thread going! Here is my BLI "Southern" Heavy Mikado climbing the grade on the "western" scenic portion of my club's layout.

Here are three different views of the same part of the RR before scenery and back drop during back drop and scenery and after some scenery. The scenery hid all those staging tracks and the branch line going to them. It is kind of nice to look back now and see what kind of changes took place over a couple years. The MRR doesnt look so crowded after scenery. Not to mention getting rid of the almost 6ft drop to the cement floor from the apex of the climb, which is 2% where the train is pictured. here the walkway is elevated to be able to see and work with the trains and scenery.
    Thanks for looking.

PICT0055.jpg here we see the scenic divider going up, the upper tracks are the MT, lower track is going to th.jpg This is the view just leaving Quanah EB towards Lynn double crosovers.jpg

Good pictures. I would like to see the side view of your "what if" MoPac engine.

    Thanks Cary
If your referring to the second unit in the consist it is a "what if" Quanah Acme & Pacific RY (QA&P). The QA&P was a short line RR in Texas, that was absorbed into the Frisco in the 1950-60's I think. It was abandoned and taken up in 1983, I model the QA&P like it never went out of business. My connection to this is my Grandfather was a locomotive engineer for the QA&P/Frisco from 1946 to 1976. That way more info than you asked for but is a little history for the model.
Anyway, the loco I think you refer to is a RRP/Athearn SD40, that has been upgraded with dynamic brakes since this photo.
Here is a newer photo of a couple QA&P SD's and some BN C30-7's on a coal drag.

Nice pics Tom. It's incredible how scenery changes the way a layout looks. Even in just small amounts. It adds depth, realism, and color that seem to bring the trains to life! Good work!

I just recently acquired this Mantua 2-6-6-2 Weyerheauser logging engine. It's older and DC only but runs pretty good though it has a clicking noise in reverse. Steam pipes by boiler I believe were added by someone later. I thought it looked neat so I took a couple of shots of her earning her keep on my club's HO layout. Anyone ever put DCC in one of these?
