Received an Email this AM, from Aristo Craft. In it, they state that they will be closing for good, on Dec 31, 2013. Due to the slow/bad economy. They just aren't getting the cash flow they need to stay afloat. Unsustainable income, and increasing debts. Get what you can, while you can! Think this may derail my own layout project ideas. Unless, I can locate a box of 10 foot diameter curves!! Need a complete circle to finish my backyard expansion project, they way I want! I can still complete things, but I'll be forced to use 8 foot curves instead. And I have a 1/4 curve, that is going to need an 11 for curve, to get me to the back yard! And USAT track is just as difficult to come by as well. I'm gonna have some big problems shortly I think. Oh well.........
BoxcabE50, they spun the electronics division off as Crest Hobby a few years back. As that's still profitable, my understanding is that it will continue under the Crest name.
Not an N-scale comment but I was hoping for another run of their G Scale E8s. I need (well, really it's want) another CB&Q E8 for my future garden railway.
Based on some comments "on another network" I suspect we may be seeing former Aristo-Craft product released by the Kader/Sanda Kan/Bachmann behemoth. My read between the lines on the comments leads me to that speculation. And it's only speculation...
I was sitting here thinking the same thing. Their railroad products will surely see some sort of future. The line sold, production rights let, or?
