You're KILLIN' me. There's a Jordan Spreader (brass) on ebay right now (SP&S!) that I'd kill to have but can't afford... :(

When I first read the topic title, I thought there was blizzard heading for VA.

That's more snow removal equipment than I have ever seen any one person create.

My OMI Rio Grande Jordan might be ready.
Not sure if the on board diesel generator runs though!
Nice collection of snow fighting equipment though!

The shortline is good. The regional is looking at borrowing equipment till they get theirs.

There is up to four feet of snow on the BN routes in the Dakotas especially some of the old CB&Q routes. Okay who is in charge of the operating department? Trains are stacked up all the way to Chicago.

Used to have a diesel rotary and still have the parts so probably at some point I will recreate it as an electric with a B unit as the power source. And I still have a wedge plow made by Pegasus that I am debating on whether to mount it on the front of a steamer or maybe on an ore car.

The Wilmington and New York has its two Russell Snowplows at the ready. One is stationed at Au Sable Forks and the other on an unmodeled portion of the line. :)

The Saucier (Mississippi) Central, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Boston & Maine, does not own, or need any snow fighting equipment. The SCRR's location is the reason that B&M management purchased this line, to escape from dreaded northern New England winters and continue playing golf...that's my story, and I'm sticking with it. LOL

The shop for PWW&RB keeps promising to build a snow plow so the logging crews can winter cut .. but so far they still out hunting white tail and trading shots of Jim Beam and JW red label ..... oh and of course they be too proud to ask GN or NP or UP or any other P for help .... sad sad days .......

The record low temperature on M&KCGL track is 15 Celsius.
As such, the purchase of snow removal equipment is considered to be a luxury to be acquired, only when profit is so high, that we need to throw money away.

My CN Russell is ready for drift busting. However, the F-units needed to push it are currently unavailable due to funding issues.

Well unfortunately only two engines are still running at this current time and they are equipped with plows, in the meantime most of the railroad has been abandoned due to lack of funding and lack of trackage... some stuff has been derelict for the moment at DRST's primary shop awaiting replacement of equipment, new frames, or just the funding to keep the loco's running... https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/1273715_554342644619994_640188565_o.jpg

A difficult build but for starters I would look at any one of the available F units such as an F-3B or F-7B for the basic body shell, or maybe even the A unit shell since the basic shape is there and the front part of a Tichy rotary. The roofline would have to be raised and a lot of parts fabricated and even the front of the Tichy rotary housing would need modification.

My PC is ready with 2 newly acquired Russells, although they are still lettered for Pennsy. My BN, CRI&P, EJ&E, and Turtle Creek Central may have a tough time this year. The stubborn ol' #%@!&*^ in charge won't build the rotaries 'til he figures out his airbrush !!! I have a few questions. First, what tenders do you use for your rotaries ??? I like 'em !!! Second, what exactly is that BN piece ??? It's cool, and I GOTTA' have one !!! Lastly, have you seen the jet blowers from BLW ??? May have to get a couple for yard turn-outs. I also found an RS11 converted to a wedge by the TP&W on a video. That would be a cool project some day !!!
