I love the N&W Js however I model the Milwaukee Road and a freelanced connecting short line. So here is a Milwaukee Road Hiawatha J. Is there others who have do there own fantasy steam?
Well I gave into a wild moment once and created an NP locomotive. Poor quality old photo before I got a decent camera. Of course Concor used to have all sorts of fantasy steam back awhile ago also.
I've had the idea for years, but never acted on it. Someday I will have a BN steamer, although I think someone did that years ago. If I ever do it, I would do a PC engine also. But that's WAY down the line !!!
All of the N&W fans are sitting down right now, so they don't fall down at the sight and thought of.... But if steam had persisted, and they had sold off J locos at some future date, they could have been owned by who knows. C&O would look nice, as would NYC.
I have one of the initial SP Kato GS-4s in the colorful paint scheme, but I had it painted B&O Blue. I have the old ConCor U-50s and I painted and relettered them for B&O. As they say, "it is your railroad."
I think about 90% of my steamers are fantasies (including the factory-painted ones). Here's my NYC J3a in C&NW E-4 livery - Cheers, -Mark
This is my Kato Mikado painted for Anahiem Asuza & Cucamonga with matching caboose and slogan box cars from the skit on the Jack Benny Show. Phillip
Bugs bunny would also come out of his rabbit hole in exotic places and quote must have took a wrong turn at Anahiem or Asuza. Phillip
A railfan snuck into the Westfalen & Gulf paint shop and grabbed a couple of shots of the unfinished Yellow Rose streamliner.
My contribution to fantasy steam paint jobs My Burlington Northern Hudson totally wrong It drives SOME people absolutely crazy when I get this out..... View attachment 62095
