Okay I know it is for locomotive maintenance, what I need to know is 1- who manufacturers it, 2- where can I get one and 3- does it come in N-Scale?? I know the stand below it was built by the owner to hook it all up DCC not concerned with that, just the unit on top. If you know please inform me, inquiring minds want to know! Thanks, Andy
It's a rolling stand. Put your engine wheels on the small bearings, adjust and turn the power on..... You can use it to give some "training" to your engines without having to run them over an hour on the busy club's layout... Seb N scale US trains
Okay, I was sure of that much (in general) and Thank you for that. Any ideas where I can procure one so I can service my N-scale engines? Andy
Andy, another loco maintenance technique is to cut a long V slot in a block of squeezable firm foam. Lay the loco on its back in the V and connect clip leads to the split frame or tender wheels for power. Now you can check for binding, lube gears, or whatever else might be needed.
MiniTrix N Gauge T66721 Roller Test Stand $200+ http://www.internettrains.com/merch...ode=IT&Product_Code=MRK-T66721&Category_Code=
This is what I do now however I want to make a DCC test stand out of it as well.... Thank you for the feed back.
Mike I think this is the way to go thank you for that link! I have subsequently identified the unit as a Hornby rolling road and it is only for larger scales than "N". I saw one here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HORNBY-Live-Steam-R8211-Rolling-Road-Loco-Unit-/390475079173 and I like the concept so I will create my own using those on your link. Thank you. Andy
