Don, What era (time line) are you modeling? See some really neat old switchers. Keep pix coming, please.
The layout is a double deck layout, steel mill on the top level and a yard, coal tipple, and small country scene on the lower level. I model a steel mill mostly because of the odd equipment that can be found with in them. There are some piece never seen by the public. The mill has a blast furnace, Basic oxygen furnace (BOF),electric arc furnace (EAF), rolling mill, ore yard with ore crane and hullet unloader, and a slag pit. Still have a 32 foot x 2 1/2 around the wall shelf that I can model on. Just don't know what I will model yet. The lower level has a 6 track yard (2 stub 4 run through) a wye track, turntable, 9 stall roundhouse (still in construction), diesel and coal service facility, car shops with transfer table, there is also a small 2 track coal loader. Still have a lot of scenery to do on the layout. The time period I model is between 70s & 80s, but if I find an older or newer model that I like I will get it and run on the layout. Don
