    Hi all,
I would just like to announce that the site, Western Shortline Rosters is back online. It is under new management and a new name, CLASS III Shortlines. I've taken over administrative duties from Pete Kovanda. The rosters are extremely out of date but over the next several years I hope to get them up to speed and add lots of new pics, rosters, and states covered. Of course any and all contributions would be most welcome in doing so. Also a new look has started to take place. All the links remain the same and you can view it at http://www.trainweb.org/rosters as usual.

    Thanks,
    John Barnhill

    John-

I was looking at the Montana page just for fun. I see a couple which are not listed, one past, one present: Montana, Wyoming & Southern RR; Yellowstone Valley RR.

Just a quick update. Two months have gone by with a ton of work being done. A new look, new credits and links page, and new "whats new" page. Arizona and California are basically all caught up with all rosters updated, many new rosters added and tons of new pics added. I'm currently working on Oregon and Washington with many rosters already updated and a bunch of pics added. Check em out and see if they're up to snuff. Any additions or corrections are most welcome.

Just an update on the project now that a year has gone by. All states originally covered by the site have been updated. Many received new rosters as well. Added Nevada and New Mexico with plans to add Colorado at some point. On the Canadian side, I've gotten everything but British Columbia updated as much as possible at this point. I've even just added in three new rosters in Saskatchewan and Manitoba in yesterdays update. Oh and tons and tons of pics have either been added or linked in from my other sites. Come by and enjoy. :)

Just for fun. This is post SNCT. Note the name painted out. After the SNCT, it was briefly used by the Olympic Railroad. A failed attempt to re-start barge traffic to Port Townsend and the paper mill there. It was then stored for a while, before being acquired by the Ballard terminal.

Thanks Boxcab! Looking at the dates and the photo, you are most certainly correct. I will have to go in and fix this. This was a remnant of the original work on the site as I havn't touched the roster here much at all besides adding in my photos. :)

    John-

Was there any caption on that photo, as to location? I believe this was taken while in post-OLYR use, in storage at the paper mill.

All I have is Port Townsend in 1989. If I get things right, the rails and such of the OLYR were pulled up in 87. That would put this in storage until it went to Ballard Terminal.
