Korea Brass has decided to jump in to the HO scale retail market with a U25C, with all phases being offered. They already have preproduction samples painted for display, and hope to ship this Summer. Here is a link to a photo on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/KoreaBrass...0.1393331737./714742328556343/?type=3&theater KBM has made models for other companies for many years, but this is their first direct, under-their-own-name offering. This remoinds me of Kato, when they stopped making models for ConCor and Atlas, and brought out their own products.
Interesting. I believe there are current plastic versions also announced or further along the production chain.
I think these are the same one's. These are plastic and were announces back in Feb/March last year. Jason
Hornby is also introducing a plastic U25C. Supposed to be ready this coming Fall. Looks like I forgot to mention in my original post, KBM's will also be plastic.
Here you are Rivarossi Announces GE U25C with All New Tooling for 2014 | Hornby America and Diesel Locos | Hornby America Now all we need is the GE U28C and U30CG. Tom
I'm not worth a darn at spotting the minor differences between the various iterations, wish they'd do one in Oro-Dam Constructors.
Our 1st Run 2 Oro Dam models will be part of this first run. They will represent Oro Dam's modified PhIIIb. Due to their uniqueness however, they will probably be at the end of the first run. This first run will include models for all the US railroads that own them. Railroads that were known to run these mainly in triple consists will have 3 numbers available, while the rest will have 2 numbers available. Since I am not in the office I don't have the exact details, but I will try as best I can. First run will be the following: ACL Ph II, 2 numbers SCL Ph II, 2 numbers LN Ph IIIb, 3 numbers? SBD Family Lines Ph IIIb, 2 numbers? NP Ph IIIb, 3 numbers? CBQ Ph IIIb, 2 numbers BN Ph IIIb, 3 numbers PRR Ph IIIb, 3 numbers PC Ph IIIb, 3 number CR Ph IIIb, 2 numbers Oro Dam Ph IIIb low profile, 2 numbers LSI Ph II, 1 number Undec, both Ph II and Ph IIIb We decided to only do one LSI model since the railroad only had two. We will offer the other one as part of the next run.
Cool Beans! I'm saving my change. I've never tried to "reserve/order" a model before, how do I do it ?
Contact your favorite supplier. Ask if they'll be bringing into stock the item of your interest. See if they will order a specific one for you, with or without requiring a deposit...
