After having my tsunami equipped current release big boy short out, the decoder was replaced by athearn. Since I got it back I have been having an intermitent throttle issue. If you set the throttle on the dcc and dont move it, the engine eventually quits, with proper sound for the slow down and idol. Any movement of the throttle returns to normal/set speed. A factory reset did not fix the problem. Is it possible as a replacement chip this may be some kind of a setting in the cvs that it requires constant attention? My layout has a 3 loop main and an extensive yard so i normally have 3 consists running on the mains and one shunt engine in the yard.
I would not rule out a problem with the decoder but is it possible you have 2 throttles selecting the same locomotive?
This happens whether the ut4 and dt402 throttle are plugged in or not. That being said us their a way to wipe the history of the zephyr Xtra and the digital handheld to eliminate this?
Yes, and its highly reccomended you wipe the Zephyr memory, although you usally you get a slotmax error Sent from my LG-LS970 using Tapatalk
Yes, that sounds like the locomotive is selected on more than one throttle. Since you are using a Zephyr, the other throttle could even be one of the jump ports.
Proper discharging technique on the dt402 appears to have fixed the problem. Thanks guys. Will repost if thebproblem reappears.
