I am planning to put a fascia board on the n scale garage layout I'm planning at the moment with my kids (it has moved on from an under bed layout - the boss has given us permission to use part of the garage instead). My question is around how to run the scenery up to the fascia board and get a nice finish on it rather than the scenery overlapping the board. My only thought was to install a contoured strip of foam along the front edge of the layout, run the scenery base folded over the top (I have used the plaster bandages previously) and once this is finished being sceniced, then install the fascia. I am in the final stretch with the layout plan (which I will obviously post at the appropriate time) and will therefore begin benchwork construction soon, but am trying to think ahead.thanks in advance.

This is what I did. Instead of fascia, I put a nice finish on the benchwork itself:

The benchwork is 1x4 lumber on the front face. The stringers going front-to-back are 1x3 lumber, aligned at the bottom of the 1x4s. Then I put 2-inch pink foam inside, so that the foam ends up sitting halfway down. I rounded the top corners of the foam and put on scenic material. This picture shows some of the steps. I put blue painters' tape on top of the benchwork to protect it while I was finishing the rest of the painting and scenery.

Thanks for the info, looks like a nice finish. Struggling to source the 2" extruded foam in the uk though.
