Hi, all, Well, I'm not there, but some of you may be! (at the in-progress Aug 16-21 N Scale Convention / N Scale Collector Convention in San Diego). I believe that yesterday, Tues 8/16, was the field trip to the Belmont Shores Lines N scale club up in San Pedro, Calif (Los Angeles area). Tonight, Wed 8/17, is the infamous late-night 'Room Sales Night' at the N Scale Collector's Society hotel (the Town and Country). Clinics, field trips, friends...... I wish I was there. (too much business / family things at home). Anyone who is attending the convention, have photos to post? Thx for anything anyone wishes to contribute. (smile) Sincerely, Missing in action roving reporter John Sing
I was there today for a short time. I saw the new MP 15 by Atlas (due out in October)- painted up in all flavors and looking extremely well detailed. I am definitely getting one! Nobody is saying that there will be any new announcements on Sunday morning. I will post some photos of the MP 15 soon. Brian
I was there Saturday and saw the flyers Atlas had for the Western Pacific Bicenntial engine. Con-Cor was going to announce a new engine but I left before the announcement. Also, does anyone know how to contact a dealer name Red County that was there? [ August 21, 2005, 10:31 AM: Message edited by: PacRail ]
Hi, all, JimBeer posted some good manufacture's photos over at: http://forum.atlasrr.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=20794 Check it out (smile!)
Jim's photos on his Atlas post are nice, but Snapfish won't let me in without signing up for my personal account. Furthermore, I understand from reading follow-up posts to Jim's post on the Atlas forum, that Snapfish wouldn't let them transfer to Jim's account to look at his photos even after they had signed up for their own account. Is there something I (they) missed?
>>flyers Atlas had for the Western Pacific Bicenntial engine<< PacRail, can you elaborate? Atlas has nothing on their site about this. 2slim
Atlas had a stack of flyers for the WP Engine on the their table. I was unable to get one of the flyers and obtain any additional information. [ August 21, 2005, 06:45 PM: Message edited by: PacRail ]
Ok... just got back had a Great Weekend with the Family and TRAINS!!!!!!! I think I did more BS'ing then taking pic's
Sorry, I was under the impression that Snapfish would allow public viewing. Apparently not! Anyway, they are now posted here under separate cover. http://www.trainboard.com/ultimatebb.php/ubb/get_topic/f/9/t/006554.html
The Western Pacific Bicenntenials are a Special Run that Atlas is producing for the N Scale Collector Society. This run features some nifty two tone handrails, the presidential seal placard on the hand rail, and the Western Pacific placard there, as well. It is a two pack of locomotives as on-prototype as they could make them, and they came out waaaaay nice. They will be posted for sale on the NSC website next week, and the run is 50% sold out from the convention attendees, so act quickly. BTW- thanks to all who attended, all who helped, all who showed, and all who worked so hard to make this convention a success. Best- George Johnsen Chairman, Southern California N Scale Council Chairman, N Scale Collector Society
Red County or Red Country is a show only (I'm pretty sure) dealer we have rubbed elbows with in TX, AZ, and OK. They used to buy some stuff from us to re-sell. Nice people. Husband & wife couple.
