I have gathered some information from my other thread on how to wire the switches I will use to control my turnout servos. I understand that I need to wire the three RC wires to one side of the switch. I am wondering however, how I need to wire the frogs on the other side. For simplicity's sake, the point positions will be A-F as relayed in the diagram below: TamValley also supplied this diagram on their website which I am still a bit fuzzy on. From what I understand, points A, C and E will be used to control the servo. So what points do I use to power the frog? I'm under the impression the frog wire would go directly from the frog to the appropriate toggle switch point, correct? Also, if I decide to use LED's on the "turnout control board" to indicate switch position, assuming the LED would have a "power" and "ground" wire, which wires would I connect the LED to? Where would I get my ground for the light?
Before I attempt to give advice, a question. The diagram you posted from the Tam Valley site shows the use of their Remote DPDT Relay for frog switching and/or lights and signals. I have pointed out the relays in the diagram below. Are you using these Tam Valley relays? - Jeff
I suppose I have suggest this solution (I recognize the switch picture) , so..... - The diagram you posted have nothing to do with what you want. Use the diagrams at "Roll Your Own Inputs" on same Tam Valley page

- Connect the switch terminals A and C respectively to terminals 1 (A) and 3(C) of Octopus Use this: - connect LEDS as this you will end with this connections: To power the frog, just use the second section of the switch and connect B to one rail, the F to the other rail, and D to the frog. IF THE POLARITY IS WRONG, JUST EXCANGE THE TWO RAILS CONNECTIONS. Remember to set the MTR jumper on the Octopus to use the Switch ( not to "momentary" input ) That's all, folks
I've incorporated Enzo's comments into a diagram that shows the complete connection for one turnout. As Enzo said, if the frog polarity is incorrect, just swap the B and F connections on the switch. Notes: 1. There is nothing connected to terminal E of the switch. 2. Be sure to set the MTR jumper on the Octopus III board for use with toggle switches. Enzo mentioned this, but I'm repeating it here. - Jeff
