to 1987, just before the loco was converted to dynamic brakes. Therefore the dynamic brake blisters and fans needed to be removed, winterization hatch and all-weather window added, brake wheel instead of ratchet and all "standard super detailing" with correct fan plates (see-through). Paint scheme corrected (black walkways) and added, some decals added . Loco converted for Gunnar Haeberer.

Lots of greak details. Great inspiration. Before converted to dynamic brakes. That explains why I found pictures both with and without dynamic brakes. What do you use as net on the winterization hatch? Or is all one etched piece? Same with the all-weather window, is it also one etched piece? Great work.

    Hi Mikael,

The winterization hatch is simple a part of an AZL UP GP7, the all weather window is scratch-built from styrene

Ok when I looked at the base SD 40 I realized how cool this really is. Really well done. More so I like the weathering, very prototypical
