I started this one a year ago, but was stymied until I found some Utah Pacific Wheel Slip Modulators which I just installed. Along with the decaling the number boards. These were the last group of U23B's ordered by the PC, since the current president of the PC was from the Southern Railway these engines differed from other PC engines in that they were equipped with dual controls and were desiganated that the long hood was the front of the locomotive (as god intended!!!). Also they were equipped with Sun Shades and Plows which were not present on other PRR, NYC and PC power. Thanks for looking! Rick J
It's a two unit suburban electric , 2 EBP 1950s design and third rail 750 volt. I don't have third rail but it sure looks good on my track.
Candy ... I had no idea you had put so much labor and material into your layout (lights, etc). Good stuff! Jim ... thats a nice scene on the trestle. What radius curve is that? I'm trying to make up my mind what radius looks good in photographs.
Boxcab, This loco is a Bachmann 4-4-0. It has DCC and sound and I rate it as excellent! Bill, The trestle radius is 24". In my small room it is the largest I could use. As a rule photos and train running will always be best with largest radius possible. Thanks, Jim
BNSF just crossed the Santa Anna River in Colton Ca, the crossovers, and is about to cross Fogg St. [/IMG]
Unlike most of the other posts, I don't really have enough completed scenes to shoot pictures in, so I once again present progress. Last two mornings, I carved layers in the side of the hill and painted the hill side. Applied ground cover over wet paint and planted the last prepared trees I had on hand. Pat, No worries. This is called Photo Fun, post whenever and whatever train stuff you may have. Cheers, Jim
While I am waiting for some ballast to arrive so I can ballast a yard and engine facility, I started putting in some pine trees in an attempt to blend the backdrop into the hard shell scenery. Looks like it should work. Ran out of trees, but more are on the way. The first picture is a train coming out of hidden staging tracks, and the second is the train going upgrade. Ballast is also needed for the spur coming off of the main line in the picture.
