Does anyone know if Kato has ever released their F7 dual headlight with steam generator shell decorated in any road name? They list undecorated shells on their web page, and I know the F7B is easy enough to find with the steam generator, but I'm having trouble finding a decorated model in this configuration.

    Any help appreciated.

Yes, I didn't find the answer at the bottom of the page, however, there is a photo of the GN F7 with the silver underbody, which has the shell I'm looking for.

    Thanks.

Middle of the spookshow page (linked above) shows a GN F7 with dual headlights and steam generator.

Almost the last couple of lines from the review at the bottom.

Dual headlights appear on the ATSF, BN, SP and UP A units, while single headlights are found on the CN and PRR A units. The ATSF passenger B unit has steam generator details on the roof. Rapido-type couplers come mounted on all the F7s... These Kato F7s are excellent models that will enhance any N scaler's enjoyment of first-generation diesel railroading. ATSF, BN, CN, PRR, SP, UP, Undec. $69.98")

Of course this is an excerpt from the earlier Model Railroad review and there have been a few subsequent releases since.

Of course when modeling GN there were always a few exceptions here and there. On the west side of the system in Washington State GN fielded a dual service AB set in the early years with the A without steam generator and the B with steam generator, neither in silver trim and single headlight, that could pinch hit in local passenger service.

Technically, that doesn't answer his original question (have their been any F7A's with dual headlights and a steam generator). Lucked out with that GN pic, tho :)

    Cheers,
