Our new GMD-1 N scale locomotive is almost ready to ship and we wanted to show you what it not only looks like, but what it sounds like..... So, I am "proud" to present the red carpet world premier of "The GMD-1 in N scale, the Final Frontier"..... The N scale GMD-1 - coming late January to your local dealer... and don;t forget to cast your Oscar ballet for us in the "Best short film or meaningless commercial" category....... The GMD-1 - what happens when a committee designs a locomotive in the Great White North eh............
Well that just amped up the anticipation. Looks and sounds great. Good job folks; glad I got in on this one. Glen
Surely this will sell out. Also watched the video about recording sound. Quite the hike to reach that dining car... :uhoh:
Very tempted to maybe get one or two, now, except they would have to be in NAR colours. I just checked the website, and it looks like the NAR roster only has the locomotives with numbers, but without the names that NAR applied to them.
Did the NAR put town names on the GMD-1? Im too young to remember. I remember the GP9s and the SD38 had town names.
The GMD1s had names (or nicknames) of notable people associated with the railroad. The SD38-2s were actually named after some of the major rivers the NAR crossed.
The...only...thing...that...would...have...IMPROVED... this... Final Frontier... VID-e-o... would have been... to GET... William... SHATNER... to... ... ... ... narrate! (I mean, he is Canadian.) Some really nice effects. Will a DCC idiot such as myself be able to figure out how to get them all to work? (For example, the "straight to Notch 8" effect.)
Well, that and not call it The Final Frontier. After all, when you consider how well the last Star Trek movie called The Final Frontier turned out... And while I am impressed with the sound on the GMD-1, unfortunately the laws of physics still hold dominion over sound in N scale.
Jason writes very detailed and somewhat amusing instructions.... you'll be able to figure it out.... and all the "unlisted features".... (did I say that with my outside voice)
