I'm sure this site is long gone now. "CJ Tower." Multiple railroads in that vicinity: Lehigh Valley, NYO&W, D&H and ? Anyhow, I would to know if CJ Tower was the same place as what I have seen referenced as Coxton/Coxton Junction/Coxton Tower? "CJ" would certainly fit as "Coxton Junction." Or is that too obvious, and I am misleading myself?
Ken, I don't know where CJ was in relation to the Wyoming Valley, but I believe the Lackawanna and the Erie also had a presence near that area. And the CNJ may have had trackage rights. There was heavy anthracite coal traffic out of this area 100+/- years ago. Possibly the Reading also was nearby....? I hope someone familiar with the Allentown, Bethlehem, Scranton area will give you information more accurate than my antiquated memory.
Coxton, now R&N Pittston was "OX" Tower on the LV,so as not to be confused with "Croxton"..CJ was on the D&H Penn Division north of Cherry Street in Scranton..
Argh. I forgot about the "OX" designation. I do have LV orders copied that way. This is what prompted my curiosity: http://www.train-orders.com/TOUR/DHRR/DHRR.html Where did teh NYO&W get their orders?
