Dealer in Illinois, not far from Kato USA HQ, has it priced at $170 with 7 currently in stock - must add item to cart to see actual price.
They're listed in the shop finder on the Kato website.
Can't be more specific since they don't advertise on this site.
(Once, again, none of the advertisers are jumping in to seize an opportunity.)

I don't know how many may have been initially produced by Kato... probably a certain percentage above pre-orders which is usually NOT a good indicator of actual demand. I would imagine there were no more than 500 sets produced of the base model and a couple hundred KOBO at most. The few dealer that have 'real time' inventory numbers on-line... one of which is a major N scale distributor... had about 100 on their inventory list. Those lasted about a week... and they are trying to get more. The question is... are there any more available for sale FROM Kato... or are we now looking at the secondary market for unsold inventory from other small dealers that have over-ordered. If there are no more available from Kato... and we are looking at the secondary market... it will be difficult to get an FEF for less than $200. Time will tell... but... I would imagine the next resupply from Kato will be with new road number(s) and paint scheme... in June/July 2015.

Thanks all. I resisted and my wife is quite happy I can wait for a next run :) Thanks all. It was quite an internal struggle not to buy the shiny thingy in the apparently TERRIBLE box. I did so want to free another, from this terrible injustice.

Then i went to the Kato sites and found an amazing deal. I put them in the cart..... And deleted them from the cart.
    I...... will..... resist......

Ahh, so you did manage to get their last one... ;)

From what I've heard from some sources, Kato is now officially sold out of these. There might be some distributors that still have some, but would bet that is going to be very small.

    Cheers,
    Brian
