Hello I am searching for data about Shinohara HOn3 Code70 Dual Gauge turnouts. I need to know what is the exact length of the straight leg. Any information about these will be of great help. Thanks Mixy
mixy ... I'm not sure what the 'straight leg' is, but I'm sure it would depend upon what number of switch you are looking for (#4, #6, etc). It might be easier if you can go to your local hobby shop and ask to see one to make the measurement. If not, maybe there's someone in here who can make the measurement from their own unit once we know what size turnout you want. Good luck.
Thank you, Bill, These turnouts are not available in my town. It is about #6 turnouts, part Nos 669-450 and 669-451. I need the length of the straights for one of these (other will be the same length). Mixy
Mixy, I feel with you. These turnouts would not be anywhere where I would have easy access to either. The straight rail measures 273 millimeters, that's 10 3/4 inches according to my conversion site. That does not include joiner nor the tie that protrudes on each side. My turnout has the number 453 according to the box it came in (bought used). Numbers differ depending on which side the NG is. Anyway, it is Shinohara code 70 #6 dual gauge. Hope that helps. Edit: I just noticed you probably can do more with the millimeters than the inches, just like myself.
Hello Robert, That is very helpful information, thank you. I Hope that will be able to create HOn3 library in the next version of SCARM layout software for these Shinohara Code 70 tracks Mixy
Hmmm, I tried to answer this earlier, but didn't through for whatever reason. So, I'll try again, I measured mine and they are 10 11/16"
Thank you all, With these dimensions now I have Shinohara HOn3 Code70 library ready for the latest version of SCARM Mixy
