I’m tempted to buy these 5 X Green Momentary On Off Push Button Micro Switches for US $0.99 with free shipping, but it’s just got to be a trick or something to get more money. I’ve read it a number of times and the only thing that comes to mind is that "if it’s too good to be true then it’s not".

So has anybody ever bought these before?

Made in China....who knows if they are any good. They look just like the ones I bought at Radio Shack, and I use them for turnouts. I purchased signal heads on E-Bay that were from a china company, they were cheap for a 25 piece set. I am scratch building all the signal heads for now and hopefully I will be able to replace them later.

For 20 cents apiece I really don't care how 'good' they are, I just can't understand how they can possibly ship them from china for that.
I have bought a ton of electronic stuff from China including servo's without a single problem and I would normally jump on this if I didn't think it was impossible.

Something does not feel right here. Also, their feedback is not good. Look at all the neutrals and negatives. Way too many.

I read somewhere in one of these free shipping deals that the buyer is responsible any additional postage or tariffs imposed by any government that the package ships through which makes me wonder if I’m going to get a large COD bill. And what happens if I refuse to pay it?

$0.99 is not enough to worry about and it would be worth it just to see if it works. I give much more than that to panhandlers almost daily so I’m not concerned about the loss, but why sell at a loss? It’s got to cost them more for the postage so it would be a complete loss for them. US postage for a 1oz large envelope is 98¢ and although I don’t know for sure, there has to be some Chinese Postage involved.

I even thought about adding more items to the order like more switches of different colors just to cover it, but they don’t have anything else that I want.

Oh! So I just went to eBay to buy the switches and now they are up for bid starting at $.99 so I guess they realized the mistake and changed it from "Buy Now" to bid.

On the other hand what is there to lose for a dollar? Buy 'em and try 'em.

You may say you dont care about quality untill you have to remove the panel again to replace the switch. The signal heads I got from the seller didnt charge me anything extra. I does take a long time to get it though, about two to three weeks. Its sad I cant find anything local that you can get signal heads and not spend $30-$100 per signal. Dont get me wrong, the prebuilt siganls are very detailed and look realy good. But I scratch build mine for about $1.50- $2.00 per signal and serve my purpose to get the signaling up and running. Just not as detailed, yet...

Looks ok to me. time for shipping is not an issue for me but I know many model railroaders are always impatient. lol
A few years ago I bought a batch of DPDT toggle switches that came from China. Junk box was shrinking after many years.
I found out when i started to solder wires to the pins, a little too long and the plastic would start to soften and the pin begin to shift. had to be careful. I use a solder station with temp control. Been soldering since 1953 when switch bodies were made of a hard material.

these do not look like they would serve any purpose other than momentary ON/OFF
    SPST switches

turnout control or block control would need to be at the very least DPDT for switching polarity

They aren't suposed to be. They have other listings for "momentary ON/OFF Switches" and these are listed as ON OFF.

Well I decided to go ahead and take a chance on these switches and I'll let you know when they come in.
