My new Bachmann 2-6-6-2 has one, I run DC. Is their any truth to people taking the decoders out, to run better on DC. If I should take them out, I think I need jumpers. Anybody have step by step on how to do this? Curtis
I run DC and most of my newer generation Bmann have the dual mode, both steam and diesel. I have left mine alone and I don't notice any difference between them and some of my older stuff that doesn't have the dual mode. Besides if you ever decide to switch to DCC you have at least a few locos that are ready.
A dual mode decoder should run well on either, that's their point. Admittedly I'm no fan of Bachmann's decoder but it shouldn't matter.
