I'd like to swap silver sideframes with black sideframes between two Stewart F-7 units to convert a dummy unit to a powered unit. I tried prying the sideframes away from the trucks, but was afraid I'd break them. Has anyone had any success with this?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks.

Don't try to pry the sideframes off without removing the bottom cover of the truck first, you will likely break or crack the retaining nubs off of the two locating pins on each sideframe! If you do break them, replacement parts are available from Bowser, but the shipping cost will probably be as much as four new sideframes! Once you have removed the bottom gear covers on the trucks, the sideframes should come off pretty easily. Then slide the new ones in place, snap the cover back on, and you should be good to go...

However, the color of the sideframes really has nothing to do with whether the truck is powered or a dummy!
