The Union Depot in Rosenberg, Texas. Both the Gulf Colorado & Santa Fe (ATSF) and the Texas & New Orleans (SP) used this depot that was located south west of Houston.

Here are some cars I finished this week:

A McKean Modern ACF 50' Boxcar with Non Terminating Ends, painted with ScaleCoat II Reading Green with a few drops of Zito Yellow added to make a more Emerald Green. Lettered with Herald King Decals.

Accurail 40' Plug Door Boxcar Kit, modified with a fishbelly frame to match the prototype, removed the cast on grabs and sill steps and replaced with Tichy grabs and A-Line Sill steps. Car was painted with Scalecoat II Reefer Orange, Boxcar Red Ends and Pullman Green Sill. Pullman Green lettering came from Tom's Hobbies. Car was used by CNJ for hauling Ballantine Beer, this is the second of four cars I am doing.

Athearn Genesis PC&F 50' RBL with twin 8' Plug Doors, painted with Scalecoat II Boxcar Red and lettered with Herald King Decals. Car was in lumber service assigned to the BN at Eugene, OR.

    Thanks for looking!

Great stuff folks. Candy, your weathering skills and that chain link fence are excellent.

Yeah. That one bent post makes a huge difference. It gives the scene use and age.

Jim had the same first thought I did. I'm also impressed at how realistic the rail and ties look.

The Minuteman makes a great scene of a piece I don't recall seeing any time lately.

This scene is almost alive. All it needs is some sound and the place would be real.

    Magnificent material this week.

Great factory scene, Candy. Grimy, a little run down, the crooked fence and just enough filth to make it believable.

And Grampy, I agree with Boxcab that your scene looks alive - it was exactly that expression in my mind before I even got to Boxcab's comment. There's actual work going on there!

You know what Candy, at first I thought it was not your place to correct or adjust a photo posted by another member, but your subtle improvements are welcoming. Thanks for taking that chance, by subduing the brighter colors and muting the overall photo.

This B&O Hopper is a stock Accurail kit with Sergent couplers added and a series of acrylic washes. Picture really doesn't do it justice.[IMG]

Also, an Athearn Berwind HM Hopper, also a stock model. Same treatment as the B&O car above. I also made a load by hand carving an extra piece of foam board and attaching cheap "Black Sand" from the floral section of the local Dollar Tree, worked really well and cost pennies.
