Patio paint from DecoArt (the small bottles), has an additive in it to withstand outside elements. I don't know, but it may affect the paint density and react just like Floquil paint.
I have this kind of paint here, but never used it in my airbrush yet, only with a brush. I'll note it down for sure, to try it later to see how it reacts on my pieces with my airbrush.

The paint used on my parts where the following: Americana acrylic, Folk Art, and all sort of cheap acrylic Craft paint brands from the Dollars Store. I've done 3 coats on each plate, and looked if it had blocked the tiny holes.

I've included a better view bellow that was zoomed in to see the details of my achievement, and the little holes on the ladder were not blocked, so I was happy with the end results. (The holes that are blocked are the laser residue that I did not take out before painting, my bad)

I'm Currently working on my next big kit. I love Sci-fi stuff, and I'm looking forward for the next Star Wars movie, but I couldn't do a space ship model kit for train layouts out there.
So I've mixed it a little, between the new movie coming out in December and a special structure kit that so far..... I've not seen any available in Zscale.

It's a old style movie Theater.
It has the Pan Pacific auditorium Marquee (Those are also at the entrance of the Disney Hollywood studio park FL, and Disney California adventure CA. )
Contrary to the scenes here, it will be a full size theater 3-1/4" x 2-5/8" box building.

The Snowdon name come from a very old Montreal movie Theater, no longer in operation
    [IMG]
It will come with a full base that included engraved sidewalk and ceramic tiles for the entrance, two bench, two Disney look alike trash can, a ladder to change letters on the show panel, even if they are fixed in there :p

It is designed to be light using tiny Led's and a bigger one for the show panel. Here I've use the JustPlug light system for it.

I'm currently working on the manual and should be finish this week.

    Thanks guys for the comments.

I received some concern on a French board about the building being too short and looking like a dinner.
This short version was only done to avoid assembling again and again a full box during the design.

The kit version will be a full length building in scale.

I've received some questions on the figures.
They are mostly from Ebay (Chinese sellers) (Ya! The worse figures I have ever seen, but very available and cheap! :sneaky: )
The trick was to take out some of the flashes, and repaint them all with flat paint, no pink for the skin but rather a pale beige.
Misty Mauve from Delta Ceramcoat did the job.
The one in the middle was the modified one.

I've got a few emails asking about the orange cone in front of the theater, might as well post the answer here too.

It was just a toothpick end, cut to size. A small square of paper was use for the base, then the whole thing was painted orange & black with a white strip line.

Ben, thanks for the 'secrets'. I use the same 'bean pole' figures for inside staff or passengers, often cutting, er, 'trimming' the legs down. Sometimes just a 'dirty' wash is needed to tone down the colors and skin.

Wow! You were quick to find it, it's not even out yet. But rest assure, those barriers come with the kit, all 3 of them.

Had to build another version of the M3, this time with some mods: original M3 turret with MG, skirting, additional boxes and canisters, track skirts. Painted in "Desert Rats" camouflage of British Army in North Africa. The green one is build straight out of the box for comparison.

Don't mean to hijack Ben's thread but, I think it's related. Just finished up my second Animek caboose kit. My Optivisor and tweezers have become my best friends and I've enjoyed every minute of the builds. Thanks for great kits Ben. I'll be starting a transfer van shortly. uploadfromtaptalk1459616888891.jpg
