Heres the progress Ive made on my n scale layout, I started it from scratch in May 2013. Its a basement layout in a townhouse im renting. Whenever I move out , I designed it to be taken apart in sections to reassemble else where. I will post more pics soon. Here are whats in my computer. its a double level layout with a helix. My original helix was built from panel board, which warped last winter, so this summer I rebuilt it with 3/4'' particle board.
Heres some pics of what had to be removed to replace my helix, I think for now , I will just keep the helix open without scenery in case I have to fix anything
