Hi all, our German friend Karl Sinn, known Z-scale modeller and an absolute artist as far as I am concerned (check his website at http://www.spur-z-atelier.de/ ) is currently working on a new, US style layout. First preview at zettzeit.ch , for your interest I include the picture here: cheers, Matt
That's what I first said! That looks like an Atlas (older) N scale station, but it also looks to be Z scale. What is it? Mark in Oregon
Those are all Miller Engineering photo etched brass kits. All of them are Z scale. My static grass is nowhere near that good. How did he get the green blades to stick up from the tufts? I looks so real! And the pavement is perfect. He modelled the curbs! Alvaro Cars? SO much work went into putting that scene together. Even the photo has a deep depth of field, so its a composition of multiple images. Yes, an absolute artist. Master model maker and photographer.
Karl published some progress on his Niles junction layout. See http://www.spur-z-atelier.de/im-bau/niles-junction.php for pictures. Cheers, Matt
Fantastic! I wonder how the grass in track part is done. First glue the grass and then add track or the other way around? I want to model this photo at some point, if the link works. Maybe I get the inspiration I need to get going with my double loop diorama again. Now the link work, atleast for me. Conrail Historical Society facebook page have a lot of nice photos. https://www.facebook.com/1136844686...0.1445248419./503079213049750/?type=3&theater
I am honored that this master modeler chose my ATSF car barge for Niles Junction! These modelers are simply unreal in rendering realistic scenes in Z.
MzBringh, I believe Karl lays his track first. See here http://www.spur-z-atelier.de/im-bau/niles-junction.php for some build pix. Matt
