I did know about the Bay of Fundy's tide cycles. Was just wondering if.... Obviously, question answered.

Well Guys, in a previous post I mentioned that I wasn't happy with the gravel used on my layout because it was too coarse.

I changed that today. I mixed three different coloured fine ballasts, Grey, Brown and black and came up with something resembling slate colour. Also I made a small shed for my yard.

    here are a few pics:

The first one shows the road and the new gravel. the colour isn't even yet as the glue is still drying.

The next shows the yard around my Brewery road

And last, this is the shed I added today to my yard.

This is the best hobby in the world! (when things go right) hehe

Yes, I have heard of that too, but I think that was during a bad storm.
Around the Digby, Bear River area where I live we don't usually get tides over 30 feet unless it is a really bad storm.

Sorry Hitec, I meant to hit reply to you. :-(

    I am still learning here.

I thought about creating a water scene at first and even purchased the material to create the water but I haven't liked past experiences of the water material wicking up everything it touches to a level above what would be the water line. I may build a warf and have some boats tied up eventually.

I like the fun you're having with your layout scene there. Also leaves room for growth or changing your mind and the scene

Just found your posts, Andrew. You're doing well.

I might suggest unsanded tile grout for your road gravel. It has many different sizes and colors, you should be able to find something that will work well. And it's not all that expensive.

And you're never too old. :)

You are right there. The layout has changed many times since it's first beginnings. That is half the fun though.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give it a try. It is like many people still use plaster and I guess it still has it's uses but I just buy a container of premixed crack filler and it does everything I need. Glue down some styrofoam pieces, shape a bit and slap on some thin coats of crack filler until satisfied.

I've been to Digby. The scallops are the best in the world.

I was just poking around and looking at older posts. Nice layout you have there.

The first pictures shows the roof on one of the old sawmill kits. I swear, you'll find one on every layout. I've got one all built up and waiting for the new layout. :)
