Last Sunday afternoon, I was using the setting sun shining in the doors where the NTRAK layout is set up for the November layout tour. Trying to get some depth of field by using a small aperture and long shutter time on the camera.

Nice start to the weekend Russell and HO Explorer

I did not get any work done this last week, so I am going to show some old work I have done that I do not believe I have ever posted before. The cars shown were built over 20 years ago when I lived in Alaska.

Robbins Rails 60' Greenville Boxcar, changed the wheelbase to 46' from 41', removed the rivits and scribed weld lines to replicate the Thrall 60' Boxcar. Painted with Floquil Boxcar Red and lettered with Mark Vaughn Decals.

Pennsy X59 Class 60' Boxcar by ACF, again removed the rivits and scribed weld lines to match the prototype along with changing the wheelbase from 41' to 46'. Painted with Floquil Boxcar Red and lettered with Mark Vaughn Decals.

Another 60' Box, this time the Greenville version with the rivits, but the wheelbase was changed to 46' from 41' Car was painted with Floquil Jade Green and Black and lettered with Walther's Decals.

All the above cars were used in Ford Service for auto parts.

And a picture taken at the Strongsville, OH Club, Stewart C628 and C630 hauling a string of G39 Ore Jennies.

    Thanks for looking

I model the transition era, 1957 to be exact. My freelance railroad connects to the Northern Pacific and the Milwaukee Road. I have a complete North Coast Limited in the Lowey paint scheme and use part of it for a toursit train running south from Logan, MT into West Yellowstone, MT to Yellowstone park. Can't justify the complete NCL, but it does allow me to run a few cars through my layout.
I have another modeler offer me a pair of Atlas F7's for $50 and he threw in five cars also, but they are in the old Pine Tree paint scheme. The Northern Pacific changer over to the Lowey paint scheme around 1953, but it was a deal that I couldn't pass up. Sweet running locomotives.

Here are trains in both paint schemes.

I do prefer the lowey paint scheme. Rode on the North Coast Limited many times growing up.

Here's a 1990s run Walthers Superliner coach baggage. I masked off the baggage compartment windows and airbrushed them silver, but left the rubber gaskets black as on the prototype:

Here's a 1990s Kato coach. I dremeled off the weird couplers and mounted Kadees.

Good stuff from everyone. An I1sa leads a coal drag at the top of the grade at Stoney Creek.

Some pictures from around my layout room:

Chair car number sign, step stool, taillight (actually off an ATSF caboose) and switchstand are the real McCoy. Rest are replicas.

Some more photos from today's operations on the NTRAK layout. We run trains tomorrow and then have to tear it all down.

Outdoor light does wonders. I wish we could all easily, inexpensively reproduce it in the train room.
