Hey I was just wondering if anyone else is following along and doing Moby's & Ahab's build out of N scale magazine.
    Raul Perez is pretty talented.
I downloaded his artwork from the site that he gives in the magazine and used it. I like the play on the name from the book Moby dick.
If anyone else is doing it post your pictures too.
Here's mine of what I have done so far.

    Thanks Polski and BoxcabE50 .
The colors are pretty much what Raul did in N scale magazine.
The green colors I mixed myself from the Delta ceramcoat line of colors. Started off as Wedgewood green and the brick color is terra-cotta from the same line.
Here are some pictures of my progress to date. I have four of the small lights installed I made these lights myself.
It's going to be a few more days until I get the other LEDs for the lighting, Then I'll light it up and show you guys what it looks like. It's gonna look pretty cool.

Somebody else on here must be doing this to.

Thanks once again guys for all your nice comments.

I have all the lighting installed now here's a few pictures. It'll look better when I get it put on its base and not sitting on something white so the light won't reflect. I'm using the woodland scenics just plug system and the output voltage from the light hub is 24.5 V DC I have the outside lights wired in two series pairs and that's why am using half watt resistors for them.
The woodland scenics just plug system is pretty nice, you just need to watch it if you use your own LEDs because you will still need dropping resistors.

I really like the outside, directed-light effect, and have been thinking about making some of those bent-tubing lights for a while. Yours look like they scale to about 24" across the shade in N scale. I know that Tichy makes 12" N scale reflectors, but those require REALLY TINY LEDs. Did you consider using the 12" version, and if so, what was your experience/thinking?

    Thanks Steve,

Yeah you're right they are 24 inch diameter. I have some 18 inch ones from Ngineering but the LEDs look too big for them and the nano size LEDs are too small for me to work with so that makes the 12 inch ones way too small for me! It s--ks getting old
I did do some lights with grain of wheat bulbs a Long time ago where the bulb was part of the shade and they looked pretty good but you really have to watch the voltage with them otherwise you'll burn them out and they don't last that long.
I only use LEDs now for lighting.
The nano lights from woodland scenics are great just the wires are real big.
If I could find a place with prewired nano LEDs with 38size magnet wire I would jump on it.
