I caught power for the D796(???) Hanover-Baltimore running light to get their train at Smith's Station siding this morning. Had at least 10 flatcars with pipe loads but I didn't get a photo of those.

Here is 977 ES44AC-H at the grade crossing on Rt 116 at Hanover Foods plant.

And here is trailing shot of the 3rd unit, SD50-2 #2489, former CR 6738, CSX 8658 . SD40-2 #8100 series SD40-2 is the center unit, but I can't remember what the number was. (n)

Taken last Sunday, here's CSX Q463 at Pontiac, SC on the former SAL main. This train usually rates two or three units, but carried five this day, including a switcher for their Columbia, SC area yard at Cayce, SC.

NS still uses caboose on many trains. There are many locals that require long backup moves. They recently started repainting many of them.

Nice. What was interesting about the photos posted by inch53, is he'd pointed out it was attached to a CSX freight.

Boxcab,,,,, it was on a through freight. About the only switching done local is into grain elevators or fertilizer plants in Marshall or Casey.

Awhile back CSX had what looked like an old heavy weight very rough lookin baggage car [no pics] tacked on the end of a through freight. I figure it was going somewhere to be restored. Guessing the caboose is going to restoration some place

Reminiscing about the Mt. Rainier Scenic once again. These were taken on a visit there in 2012 for a photo special. I know I put some or similar up before but I rescanned and fiddled with Photoshop Elements a bit. This was a great trip.

I see Tim Daubert standing at left in front of the 70 in picture 2, and in the Hogger's seat in the bottom photo.

Nice steam photos. The B&W shot has a nice feel to it, nostalgic, back to a time when the men were proud of their machines.

    And made lots of smoke.;)

Here's an old photo taken a 5th street in Livingston, MT. Looks like they just changed out the power on the North Coast Limited. With the '59 Chevy in the photo, (looks exactly like mine) it pretty well sets the time period. Went down this street the other day and it pretty well looks the same except that the yard now belongs to Montana Rail Link.

I wonder if that could be my '59 Chevy. Mine was a barn find up in the northern part of the state. It took over 2 years to complete the work on it.
