Sorry guys for being a little bit late, life happens. This month, official entries can post up to five images, one before, one of each side, and one of each side of the prototype if matching a real car.

Entries will close Sunday and voting begins on Monday!

I shot the undercarriage with Krylon camouflage ultra flat brown and the trucks with Velspar blindfold, the colors of acrylic paints used were a mix of brown and terracotta for the fade, terracotta for the patch and pavement for the roof….and all graffiti is sharpies by hand

Here's my January entry. This is the before shot, an Atlas ACF 4 bay covered hopper with Micro-Trains trucks. This is actually an identical car with a different road number as I forgot to get a shot of the subject car before I took it apart. I wanted to use a covered hopper because they seem to be a favorite of modern taggers. Covered hoppers are most often light in color and on today's railroads they seem to be more common than box cars.

There are is one of my prototype reference photos.

Completed entry car on one side.

Completed entry car on the other side.

Started with a MDC 50' Lomoille Valley boxcar with MTL trucks and couplers.

Painted the roof with aluminum paint, distressed the lettering, faded the car and added several layers of washes and grime coats.

Printed and added new reporting marks and tagging.

Added Forklift damage and repairs to the roof.

Fade was done with white oil paint. Grime was also done with oil paints of several shades of browns.
Rust patches was again done with oil paints and weathering powders.
Graffiti tagging, both red and black was done with an Inkjet printer on clear paper, the reporting marks and black patches on the sides and ends were done with an Alps printer.
The Forklift damage was done using a pencil torch, and the repair panels were done with tinfoil cut into panels and glued in place.
Wheels were painted with Floquil and rusted with powders.

After much perusal......the Ma n Pa will be my entry. On the one end it has simulated new tack boards, and on the other it has some little scraps of paper still tacked on. And of course, Tex of the XD spread gave it a brand when they loaded up some hay. PIC_0526.JPG
