By the way, Intermountain has just announced the Tier 4 GE's in HO.

    Interesting, Traindork...

That means all new tooling, I'm sure. FVM or Kato, OTOH, would likely only have to rework the radiator area on existing tooling.

Intermountain already makes the GEVO so it looks like all they need is the new long hood with the new rads and taller section on top of the engine doors.

Was unaware they were doing GEVOs, but then I don't watch HO's doings...

Finished up another project - Gunderson AP 53 single well cars. Here's the baretable version:

And a shot with some cans:

    And on the road:

The cars are from kits by N Scale Kits and are not shake the box by any means. But a fun and rewarding project. Decaling these is a whole 'nother thing, used cuts from four different sets. And that fence does need some work...

Very nice! I seem to recall a year or two ago someone announced 53' single well cars, but I haven't seen or heard anything since, and I don't remember who it was. I know it wasn't N Scale Kits. One of these days I'm going to buy me some of their kits and get to building.

Be prepared...not the easiest to build. But the three foot rule works well...

M-T had an ad in the latest N Scale but the copy was confusing, looked like the 53 but nowhere did it mention holding 53 foot containers.

JMO... I think the old dilapidated fence adds 'character' ;)

I've had a project in mind for several years now and decided to take the plunge: scratching the Caliente, CA Post Office. I thought about an article, but as I progressed I realized I just am not organized enough to write about a scratchbuilding project. Anyway, some pictures.

Here we see the basic walls and floor.

    Next with the basic roof:

With the original (I think) roof added:

And finally we see the front canopy added:

This is a great project for a hot Tennessee summer. More next week!

    Hi Jim

I am looking forward to see your finished Caliente Store or Post office.
Do you build it in the present?

    441 miles via I 81, I 40, TN 840 and US 31...
We're about 30 miles south of Nashville in Middle Tennessee.
And of course you'd be welcome...
