From what I see on a Google image search for "sodium hydroxide tank car" it appears that several different sized cars are used. I did notice they are rated as DOT 111 A 100W1 and many had "sodium hydroxide" stenciled on the side. There should be plenty of models of the proper car types available but you may want to add the stenciling and of course hazmet placards. Here is an example.

Brad is right, just any general purpose tank car is used. There could be a product weight issue that would actually be the determining factor as far as size car to use. When I was at the Chevron refinery in El Paso we loaded a great amount of spent Sodium Hydroxide and shipped it to paper companies. I don't remember, for sure, but I do not think the cars we leased were lined with rubber? ? ? As far as the stencil goes, all hazmat shipments must be labelled and placarded with the material name and on the placards the UN number as set out in the Code of Federal Regulations CFR 49. Some time when you have time, Google CFR49 and try to understand. Of course 49CFR covers all modes of hazmat shipments.
