I been busy building this coal loader module. Stonebridge models put a coal loader kit, but I bought the prototype already build by Karin Snyder. The track work consist of a inner loop is design to go around the loader to simulate loading the coal cars, and the Zbend tracks are flair out to make room for the inner loop.
I think that the design of the track could be better. There is an option for train to get from mainline into coal loadin oval but to get back to the mainline you will have to push the train back directly into mainline - I am not sure if it is a good and prototypical idea ?? Wish you lot of fun with the ptrogress on your module
We used to do this very thing at Cameo on the former D&RGW. We pulled in off the MT pulled thru the loading tipple on a balloon track then shove back thru the tipple out onto the MT and proceed East. The load out is all gone now, a frac sand outfit in there now, but the balloon track is still mostly in tact. So yep there was a prototypical operation very similar to the one you have going there.
Nice John that is a great idea. Best part is you could just run some trains around the inner loop if you get bored. Well done.
