Does anyone know if Rivarossi (aka Hornby) have plans to produce a UxxB version? Right now they have the U25C but I'm looking for a nice U23B or U25B tooled recently in Conrail blue. Alternately, anyone else bringing a modern highly detailed U-Boat to market?
Check out the Atlas site http://www.atlasrr.com/NLoco/nu23b5.htm#.VwMhQo-cGM8 U23B in 3 numbers. I'm in for a couple of Milw. units
Bowser just released the GE U25B a few months ago. I have one in BN and it runs and looks great. I did make a couple of changes to it. I replaced the horn with a shrouded horn and added a gumball flasher to the cab roof. If you can find one Athearn made a line of both B Boats and C Boats some years ago
For model and manufacturer: U25B --- Stewart/Bowser U23B --- Atlas U28B --- P2000 (Walthers-Lifelike), Athearn U30B --- P2000 (Walthers-Lifelike), Athearn U33B --- Athearn U36B --- Bachmann U18B --- Intermountain For more info see my "guide to" posts in the GE section at Diesel Detailers Forum. http://dieseldetailer.proboards.com/board/46/boats
Good info all. Would Conrail have ever used a single U30C or C30-7 in local freight service in the early to mid 1980s?
Conrail owned quite a lot of different U boats! GE U23B GE U23C GE U25B GE U25C GE U28B GE U28C GE U30B GE U30C GE U33B GE U33C GE U34CH GE U36B GE U36C
