Now that would have been an interesting development George!

But yes, great to see this car appear now in N and based on Athearn's previous tank car offerings, it should be great!

LOL, just tell her that it's technically x number of cars divided the loading point (wasn't it every fourth car that they loaded directly to). So if you bought 48, you can "honestly" tell her that you acquired 12.

Small very flexible rubber hose. I was concerned that they wouldn't be flexible enough, but I got to handle one and bend it around and seems pretty limber. The Athearn rep said they tested it on some fairly tight (I don't remember if he said what radius exactly) curves without any issues.

What you say is, "I need 24. But I'm settling for 12." Always double what you want and say that's what you need, but you're making the sacrifice and just getting 12. ;):ROFLMAO:

How is that different than, " This dress? Oh, it was On Sale for $100. See how much I saved?!" :eek:o_O

Well that sounds like a good idea, I think she would probably understand 12 (which is what I pre-ordered). But do you think Athearn would go for your ratio. If I paid for 12 cars that were loaded directly, that they would give me the other 36 for free to complete the prototypical set?
48 cars would be an acceptable amount for me ;)

To answer the OP's original question. As years wore on the cars were indeed run together.

Just like anything eles they were mixed or matched to haul the commodities as requested by shippers.

Ouch on the walltet as well. I think I heard the CEO in charge of requisitions laughing his @$$ off.
You want what and when? Hawhawhawhawhawhaw! And Still LHAO!
    Yep, that'd be me.
