I managed to get some cars done this week.

Intermountain 40' PS1 Boxcar Kit, painted with Scalecoat II Boxcar Red and lettered with Mask Island Decals.

Walthers International style caboose, window arrangement not quite correct for the NYC, but until I get my brass ones painted this will be a fill in. Caboose was painted with Scalecoat II Boxcar Red, as the original bay window cabooses were delivered in that color. Decals were from an unknown source that I picked up on E-bay.

    Thanks for looking,

    Rick Jesionowski

Added markers with flicker-free circuits on these cabooses, with a bit of weathering.

That's an interesting (AT&SF) marker. Have never seen it modeled.

Jim- Thought I read in a post you were thinking of an new RR theme? Desert? Trying to think back here, was it your Z layout which had that type of scenery?

    John,

the booses look great. Where did you get the side markers? Oops I am assuming they are N scale. Did they come from Bryan at Extreme Backshop?

    Great work !

Unless his modeling interests have changed, these should be HO scale.

Outstanding work everyone. Jim's logging scenes always have that wonderful storybook quality.

Russell's heavyweight dome car is an interesting kitbash. Choice of observation areas - in the dome or on the back platform in the fresh air. Nice.(y)

And Candy, that scene makes me want to rev up the old DeLorean and head back to that time. At least to have a bite and a drink at the Bottoms Up.

Is DUI applicable on a time machine?o_O

Boxcab, Yes, that first 'desert' was Z scale. I'm now into On30 and it is the greatest. My current layout is Northern California on a 4'x6' table. Next will be a desert pinnacle thingy on a 5'x7' table top. I've sort of gone backwards in my layout building starting with room size and now to table tops. Winding down. This next one will most probably be the last one. Jim

Thanks, Carl! Boxcab E50 is right; it's HO scale, DC layout.

The markers are from Tomar, in the Santa Fe red/yellow/yellow colors, and the flicker-free circuit (works in either DC or DCC) is from Jim Betz's diagram online.

I remember there was an article many, many years ago in a magazine about modeling those markers, something about the crew would wave them back and forth to notify the engine crew. Don't remember the reason or the mag, but my brain wants to think Railroad Modeler? (If you remember that magazine).
