I just saw that Walthers is coming out with two new N scale models - a vintage and a modern Dairy Queen! Now, if they come chocolate dipped.....

Hmmm. I'd be interested in seeing a photo of their "vintage" offering.

That vintage DQ would make a pretty good generic diner.

I can use a few of the vintage units, they still are around the some of the stops on the Santa Fe between Barstow and Winslow. And in some places like Barstow, Flagstaff and Parker would have the modern versions.

There is still one in Williams with a vintage sign, right next to a very modern Safeway

One of the modern versions near my house has been converted to a Dunkin' Donuts.

The vintage one looks good, too bad they didn't have DQ's in California back then

I've got an A&P market on my California based layout, why not a vintage DQ?

I am surprised Walthers was able to get a license from Dairy Queen to create a vintage or modern Dairy Queen model. I like the Vintage Dairy Queen also.

Hmmmm.....I see that the the dimensions for the older building are listed as 1 5/8" x 3"x 4 9/16". Any guesses as to which (3" or 4 9/16") is the depth? I can't tell at all by looking at the picture as the building looks completely square to me.

I would guess the height is 1-5/8".
3" is likely the width... 4-9/16 is likely the length (depth).

If 4 9/16" is indeed the depth, I'm out of luck. If it is 3", it will fit the space I envision.

Love the S&H Green stamps sign in the window. I still remember those and Blue Chip stamps from when I was a kid
