The weekend is almost here, can you feel it? Well it's early morning for me as I post this. The rental vehicle is packed up with the layout and everything that goes with it and soon I'll be headed north for Milwaukee. I'll be meeting up with my good friend and other half of the Galesburg City Job for a weekend of fun and trains. Putting down more track, maybe start wiring, work on projects at the bench that have gone "ignored" since I have spent so much time the last few months on the actual layout. After 8 years without a layout, nice problem.
Just ran some brand new Atlas ARA boxcars in Western Maryland colors around for a while to ensure their wheels/trucks/couplers etc. were all good. Perfection. I need to clean track on my switching layout and see how much damage I did while ballasting. That'll happen tonight or tomorrow.
Hopefully I'll be able to say hi tomorrow Jim! Would be nice to meet a fellow Trainboard member. (AKA I'll be going to Trainfest). Tonight, the wife helped me coat the 2" foam boards for the new layout. Hopefully will get that secured this weekend also so I can start laying roadbed next week .
