C&O 3161, B&O C-3985, GTW 75057
I followed the lines around a bit and did see what may be a liquid transload facility next to the Naval Shipbuilding Museum.
For motorcar/speeders only at this time.
Several pieces of motive power, unfortunately all inoperable at the present time. That will change, though!
Longest bridge owned by a tourist RR east of the Mississippi River. Grand Rapids, OH over the Maumee River. 901', six span. built in 1916.
The word "toy" with trains is almost blasphemous when discussing the equipment on our miniature rail transportation systems...
I've been thinking about taking a little field trip down there, as I need to visit a couple other places in the area.
They were apparently testing a type of Positive Train Control so that the 4014 can lead without actually having the system on board the locomotive.
I hope to make it, but I'm in the middle of a caboose move and not sure if we will be done by then.
My stepson is in Portland. Will probably take the train out in January for a visit.
I just found out about the whole mess a couple months ago, because I'm a year behind in reading. Not happy about the change either.
I was actually just on the phone with the mover guy. He will be moving another piece or 2 soon in our area.
Ugh...B&O, Chessie, L&N and CR...you're killing me...
Hmm, that might explain why the B&O trailer ramp was right across the street from the roundhouse in Rossford OH.
Making sure you know that locomotive wasn't the one in the movie...
There is a combination of power/dynamic that cannot be applied even with the fence up. I don't have enough experience using/needing that...
Yes, we can use the fence. I run on flat territory where we really don't even need DP, but since the company paid for it, they insist it be used....
Our saying is "think with your head, not with your feet".
I'll be there Sunday with a friend.
I would be in for at least a dozen B&O, but they would have to have the proper window arrangement, so I'll pass.
I was on a train from Lang Yard (DTL/GTW/CN) in Toledo once, heard an animal crying while we were building our train. Didn't see it or think...
