Perusing the latest MR, saw an ad (Micro Mark) for a Bachmann trainset with a 4-6-0. Looking at the pix real close, it showed a Spectrum tender...
This is interesting to me because I live in Prince William County … and there is a public beach near Aquia Landing (in Stafford County) that we go...
Very nicely done! Respectfully, Bob S.
Who's Bill? ;)
I'm pretty sure that Rich used M2F prototypes for all of his trucks.
Ken, Everything in those pictures is half-baked; I never finish anything :( The reefer is former Microtrains HOn3 with Marshcreek Miniatures...
Shapeways body (TeeBee) on N scale Kato NW2 mechanism. With a short train, 30-foot composite frame ice bunker reefer on point. To be decaled...
Yup, that's the one. Respectfully, Bob S.
Available to anyone. Go to Shapeways, search on HOn30 and scroll around till you find it. Tom's "designer name" is TeeBee. You can also see...
Although it's free-lanced, this one could plausibly pass for a 35-40 ton, 350-400 HP model. Shapeways body fits on a Kato N scale NW2 mechanism....

It starts with the ubiquitous Bachmann N scale MDT Plymouth switcher. [IMG] When you remove the body, it sort of resembles a brick. I am told...
"Is that a decoder or an old Lionel E-Unit?" I was kinda thinkin' the same thing. It's 1954 all over again! Respectfully, Bob S.
Subject line says it all. I have never seen this before with Bachmann dual-mode decoders. Is this a common problem with BLI? Are there any...
I have not had any "wobble" problem. Our HOn30 track gauge is 6" wider then the prototype 2 feet, so "scale" width cars don't overhang the rails...
Or you could put HOn30 trucks on it. It will do 9" radius easily. Respectfully, Bob S.
The motor has been transplanted onto the chassis of an old Bachmann tender; the tender trucks are Kato caboose. Trucks are hardwired to the...
Ken, Short answer: No. If you ever followed what I did in N scale you'll understand what I did with the tender drive system. For cosmetics used...
