How will you spend it in regards to railroading? I have 2 kits to build and I’ll give the new layout plan a good going over. Stay warm, safe and healthy.
no change for me. I work on my layout & everything it entails including engine tune ups & repairs, weathering, etc.
Now it is 2/1/21. Precipitation here in SE PA keeps change from snow to sleet. It's supposed to last until around 2am 2/3/21. No sense clearing snow just to have ice build up on driveway. That's my excuse for not clearing it anyway. I'm going to continue working on my temporary control panel and maybe get something running today, fingers crossed.
2/1/21, 3:15 The snow is really coming down along the banks of the Schuykill River. On days like today I really enjoy a hot beverage and taking in the view from my workbench in my small second floor trainroom. Stay warm!
What a neat picture logging loco. I really envy y'all having layouts. It's cold and rainy in SC, but I have no model railroad to work on. Soon I hope, soon. I think I'll put a circle of track on the floor just to see some trains roll.
Keep your eyes open for a discarded hollow core door! You can just lean it against a wall when not in use.
Good Grief. looks like February 1963 along the Surekill Messway. Two days after we, and many others, yelled. "I found a Red One. I found a Blue One.", someone yelled "I found a grey sports car." After clearing the distributor cap of my TR-3A, I was able to drive it home.
I don't remember that storm. I was 6 mos old. I would be happy if I never drive the Schuykill Expressway again! It's been a couple years and I can only imagine that it's gotten worse.
Like logging loco, I don't remember it either. Except I was eight months in the future before "coming out". But I do remember March 4th, 1971 in Montreal. We were living out in the burbs by then, and did we get plastered. We had about 20-24 inches, but with that wind blowing straight up and down our street, there were six-foot snowdrifts in the street, shaped like waves about 100 feet apart. Us kids had a blast. My Dad, not so much... Proof that appreciation of snow is inversely proportional to age. Now I have trains to keep me busy. And a front walk. And a driveway.
This Old Dump sits close to the road with no sidewalk. The picket fence is only 18-24" from the road so the plow truck usually pops off a few pickets. The snow blower is in-op, I have a little 2cyl Bolens G154 with loader and backhoe. It is built like a tank.
That just looks so relaxing. Great shot! I still feel that way about mine as well so you are not alone my friend.
What's this snow day you speak of? Winter in ND has been pretty mild so far. Now that I just jinxed myself, at least I tuned up my snowblower before winter.....
Yup! Cleared away what the snow plow piled in the walk way. Northern Wisconsin is expecting near ZERO temps for at least 10 days. Also noticed that the truck I sold a week ago now has a flat tire.
