My 12th NS Heritage unit captured at Bellevue, IA on the CP Marquette Sub. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
One of my Heritage faves and one of the first I saw. Kinda looks like a big ol' Lionel. Railfanning is leaving town for the weekend and having both the LV and CNJ units pass through my area in daylight on different trains. Happened last weekend. I couldn't believe it.
When I saw the VGN, it was spotted in perfect sun in a perfect location and my knees were almost knocking. I fired off some quick shots in case someone from NS arrived to run me off, but all was quiet and I then relaxed and took my time with safety for additional shots. I have yet to see the CNJ, CR, DL&W, MGA, NYC, NKP, NS, RDG and SOU units. Of these, I want to see the RDG most. Its paint is a grand slam on these big units.
Very nice catch Buddy!!!!! I guess I should hang my head in shame as I live deep in NS territory and have only seen one heritage unit. The Erie Lackawanna unit.
The website https://heritageunits.com/ can be a help sometimes. I seem most skilled at finding them in trailing positions.
