    I love these historical shots. Thanks so much for sharing them! Makes me wonder, imagine taking a similar shot in 2008, and to see what the differences would be in another 100 years.

    It seems like a dichotomy, relatively small,simple steam locomotives with what was, at that time, state of the art safety equipment ie. the large headlight. yet a huge, well equipped shop facility quite capable of handling those engines and more.

    Great photo, Roger. Beech Grove shops have lasted a long time. As far as I know, Amtrak is still using the facilities.

    I have seen that picture before but it is always worth seeing again. As Charlie said, state-of-the-art railroad equipment, for the time. "BROOKS" on the steam chest.
